The Bedford Oversized Wrap free crochet pattern is going to be your new fave to make and wear for cozy season. It is a piece of cozy like a blanket you can wear in public. The best part – it looks great on both sides! I am so honored to have this design featured on my dear friend’s blog at Make & Do Crew.
If you are an adventurous beginner or an experienced crocheter you will love this pattern. The Bedford Wrap uses fun stitches and creates a fabulous drape and texture. It works up quickly using chunky category 5 yarn. I used Lion Brand Yarn Color Made Easy for this project to get chunky cozy texture but not be super bulky or heavy when I wear it.
My favorite thing about this wrap is that because of the triangle shape and wide base, it can be worn so many ways and keeps me cozy and stylish in every way.
My other favorite thing is that the way the pattern is written it is very easy to change sizes to go up or down depending on my needs. It can be a MEGA oversized shawl / blanket wrap by adding a ball or two of more yarn in the center portion or by removing some of those rows it can be smaller like traditional shawls.
I chose to do a greyscale striped version because I usually wear black and so this is a perfect staple colorset for my wardrobe. But you can have lots of fun using a neutral base color and popping in some fun stripe accents of bolder colors. That is another great thing about using Lion Brand Yarn Color Made Easy for this design: the color is truly easy! They have a variety to select from to make your pops of color perfect to suit your own style.
