Delancey Hat & Cowl Free Crochet Pattern Set Part 1: The Cowl
Like the Delancey Scarf, this Delancey Hat & Cowl Free Crochet Pattern Set For Beginners uses just two (2) simple crochet stitches and is a great way to explore stitch work while creating a wonderful slightly textured cowl and beanie set. This is also a great introduction to a different flat style of beanies for those who are not a fan of working in the round. Thanks to Stunning String for providing the yarn for this pattern.
Let’s start first with the cowl.
Next Up is the beanie here.

ASSEMBLY
A NOTE ABOUT ASSEMBLY OF THIS PIECE:
It is essential to block this piece using wet blocking BEFORE you seam this cowl to get an event shape throughout. You will notice that the linen stitch section (section 2) pulls to a slightly different shape. By wet blocking this piece BEFORE seaming you will get an even and beautiful edge.
After blocking, Join sides and whip stitch seam together.
Weave In all ends!
