Stitch & Hustle is all about the many makers and small maker business owners that make up this incredible community. We encourage offline support and growth as much as online. Connecting is how we all thrive. Stitch Up Chicago was born from the idea of taking an online group offline to share fiber love. That is what every single Stitch Up is about: creating safe spaces and celebrating our common love of fiber. We had to take a break because of the pandemic and some personal life challenges, but it is time… so here we are planning our FIFTH Annual event and humbled by how our community has grown even in hard times.

We are so excited to be returning to the fabulous Godfrey Hotel in downtown Chicago. If you are coming to our event you are eligible for our special discounted hotel rate by using our booking link here.

FRIDAY  APRIL 14th

1-4 PM Afternoon Tea at Nina Chicag
Enjoy delicious snacks and bites from Chef On The Roof while you enjoy an exclusive discounted shopping experience at one of Chicago’s premier Fiber shops.

***The shop is closed to the public for Stitch Up attendees only! If you registered for the All In ticket, this special Kick Off is included. If you did not register for the All-In package, you will be required to register for this event.

Enjoy a fabulous brunch buffet with all the fixings while we sip and stitch away. We will be making a summer cotton tote bag featuring Circulo Yarns NEW In Love BULKY COTTON!!! You heard me, BULKY COTTON. The crochet version is designed by Tamara of Moogly Blog and the Knit version is designed by Michele of Stitch & Hustle.

11:30am – 1:00 PM BONUS YARN BOMB WORKSHOP WITH LONDON KAYE
We will continue enjoying morning delights for our tummy and stitch away a special project designed by London Kaye. We will be learning how to fit the pieces together, get the best out of scraps and expand our imagination. This community project will be installed on Sunday and on display through summer.

2:00 pm – 4:00 pm Knit Picks & We Crochet PRESENT AN AFTERNOON YARN TASTING 
We are incredibly excited for the return of our Indie Yarn Tasting and to announce the Indie Yarn Tasting participants for Stitch Up Chicago 2023. The Indie Yarn tasting is like no other event in the industry. Not kidding!

Join us for an exploration of discovering new fibers and new artists. Modeled after a wine tasting where attendees get to smell, swish and taste the wines, at a Stitch Up Chicago Indie Yarn Tasting our attendees are treated to a menu of options from an invited group of fabulous Indie Dyers.

Each table is set up with sample yarns in a variety of weights and colors from each dyer. Each table has a menu, notecards and pens and a variety of hooks and needles for attendees to swatch and stitch away.

While sampling these fine yarns, attendees are given an opportunity to meet the dyers and hear their stories and stories behind these fine fibers.

4:00 pm - 5:30 pm A SHAWL FOR ALL with ASYLUM FIBERS
Michele will then lead us in a fiber fabulous shawl project featuring ASYLUM FIBERS and everyone gets an ASYLUM FIBERS KIT as well. Each will include a full skein of Asylum Fibers hand dyed yarn, an original knit AND crochet pattern for the Montgomery Shawl by Michele Costa, AND a set of needles or hooks for the project!

6:30 pm – 9:00 pm TACOS & KITS WITH MARY MAXIM
Join us for yummy tacos and the ultimate sip & stitch with all your new fiber friends to close out Stitch Up Chicago. We will be revealing and launching a NEW set of patterns designed by our hosts Natalie Thomas of Detroit Knots, Lauren McElroy of Mother of Purl & Michele Costa of 144 Stitches & Stitch & Hustle. This is incredibly exciting. We will have a Tunisian, a Knit AND a crochet version for this collaboration.
Everyone gets a MARY MAXIM Kit to take home and make something fabulous and everyone gets TACOS.
