A Set Of DPN To Make My Knitting Heart Smile - Knitter's Pride Double Pointed Needle Ginger Set Review

It is no secret that am honored to have had the chance to work with Knitters Pride for the past few years. In fact, shortly after I started knitting I realized Knitters Pride would be my choice of needles and years later that remains. Not only am I a huge fan of their knitting needles and tools, but as a company I admire all the work they do in their community. So of course I am always excited when I get a chance to turn people on to their company and their products.

I invited my fiber friend Bonnie of Bon Bon Black Sheep back to tell us what she thinks about the new Ginger Double Pointed Needle Set.

For those of you who may not know me, I’m Bonnie, the creator behind Bon Bon Black Sheep. I love getting outdoors to knit and crochet. Whether it be camping, rafting or backpacking, you'll usually find me carrying some yarn along for the journey

Earlier this year, I had the pleasure of reviewing the Knitter’s Pride Ginger Interchangeable Needle Set for the Stitch and Hustle Blog.  I am happy to report that I still LOVE these needles and they are the only set I’ve been using!

As I expanded my knitting skills, I came to realize that I didn’t own ANY Double Pointed Needles.  I was getting by with using the magic loop method, but I decided it was time to invest in some good Double Pointed Needles.  I was on the hunt for a DPN set that ideally matched my current circular needle set, and Knitter’s Pride came through for the win.  I am so excited to share with you my review for the Knitter’s Pride Ginger Double Pointed Needle Set!

First off, let’s talk about why we need Double Pointed Needles (or DPNs as they are often referred to).  DPNs are used to knit in the round when the circumference of your work is too small for your circular needles.  Generally, the shortest circular needles are 16” in circumference.  If you plan to make socks, gloves, or just want to decrease the top of your beanie, you will need DPNs or to use the magic loop method.  Now let’s get to the set…

This set is beautifully packaged in a premium quality denim lined case that stores all your needles safely in one place.

It includes 12 sets of double pointed needles (5 per size), which totals 60 individuals needles! The wood is beautifully crafted from the same birch wood as Knitter’s Pride Dreamz needles. With the tapered points at both ends, picking up stitches is a breeze! My favorite thing about these is that they are very lightweight and have a smooth surface, which is helpful for yarn to glide easily without snagging.

Notable Features:

●      Set of 6” Ginger Double Pointed Needles
●      12 Needles Sizes - US 0-9 (2mm-5.5mm)
●      5 needles in each size
●      Premium needle case in denim & beige finish
●      20 Linea stitch markers
●      1 needle gauge

The major selling point for me, besides matching my current set, is how lightweight and durable these needles are.  I also love the case they come in because it makes it so easy to throw into your bag and take on the go.

My only complaint with the set is that I wish it came with larger needle sizes! I am often working with larger needles when making super bulky winter hats for adults and children. Luckily, Knitter’s Pride offers their Ginger DPNs separately. I was able to purchase a few of the larger sizes I needed while keeping my collection consistent.

Overall, this set is a good investment if you are looking to add DPNs to your collection!  Knitter’s Pride backs all of their products with a warranty on any manufacturer defects.  They are committed to providing products of high quality and performance to their customers and it definitely shows.
