Harvest Decor and All The Pumpkins

Something about harvest season… way beyond October and Halloween pumpkin carving, well it just makes me happy. Corn and squash and fall vegetables aplenty, falling leaves … all things harvest and fall make me happy. Maybe that is why November is my favorite month. So of course I had to add my own personal flavor to my harvest settings. Not one, but three pumpkins to make. Use a light color and make a gourd.

The knit pumpkin pattern is a quick workup for even the newest of knitters. It is easy to make as a pumpkin, a gourd or many other harvest decor accessories. You can make it in just about any size you want too.

The mini pumpkin is designed in the round. This is a great pattern that you can make almost like a hat and then stuff with some polyfil and seal up tight. It is a great first project for new crocheters working in the round and is very forgiving.

You can make a whole decorative scene using a variety of shades of orange and brown and have some fun adding leaves too. Just add a name tag and these are great place settings for parties and events too.

The medium textured crochet pumpkin is a great project for new crocheters as well as experienced hookers. This pattern creates a textured pumpkin that needs little extra work in terms of adornment. You can add a fun twig center or straw adornment.

More experienced crocheters can easily adjust this pattern to be as small or as big as you want and it is fantastic to utilize your scrap yarn. It makes for great centerpieces and fantastic decor that wont require the same clean up as the real pumpkin will.
