Community Spotlight: Akia of Dr. Charlie Untangled

Guess who I’m super excited to talk about today? Akia a.k.a. Dr. Charlie Untangled!

We first came across Akia when she popped up in our Instagram feed with her joyful FO dance videos. Seriously, every time she celebrated her fiber art, it just made my day. It’s like her upbeat spirit and love for crafting just jump out of the screen. Akia’s overall energy and love of fiber craft instantly had us hooked.

Imagine how great it was for me to meet Akia in person this spring at Stitch Up Chicago! It is always a busy time full of fiber friends, old and new. I could see she instantly meshed with the community and dove in to the ‘live in the experience’ feel that is Stitch Up.

And then this fall Akia came to the gosadi Stitch Night at Rhinebeck. It was great to have her join in the fiber fun at the gosadi house. Akia’s sparkling personality definitely helped brighten up the evening after the attendees had spent all day dealing with wet and rainy weather. She even won at Bingo!

For us, having met Akia and her being part of our community is like a breath of fresh air. Her enthusiasm for fiber crafts? Contagious! It’s so cool to see how much she loves this stuff, just like us.
