The Central Park Knit Cowl - Free Pattern
/I am so excited about the second piece of the Urban Jungle Collection. Maybe because I am just a chunky knit kinda gal and we have just started cozy season with our first snow. This was designed specifically with that NYC Central Park Vibe in mind. It is so vast and covers over 843 acres. It takes you from midtown to The Upper West Side, to East Harlem. Man it is big and diverse and awesome.
You can go to the Zoo there. You can have a picnic. You can play softball (or pretend as I did). You can get great food. You can get bad food. You can walk or run or ride your bike on one of the many many paths. You can literally just get lost. It is a wonder. Nestled in the awesome concrete jungle that is NYC is this amazing gift of nature.
This cowl is designed to be that same journey of exploration in both texture and color. Giving you both the contrast and the beauty that Central Park gives NYC you can tell your own color story. It is reminiscent of the fade from the concrete pavement through the autumn leaves and up to that Gotham night sky.
I made the first one shown using bulky fibers hand dyed by Alex of Alex Creates to tell that Central Park Fall color story. The second tells the NYC night story from the concrete up to that perfect purple sky on a clear night and is made using Malabrigo Rasta.
It is an easy knit that works up super fast and great for beginners.
