Smitten For Bernie's Mittens - Bernie Sanders Mittens Inspired Creativity
/Oh how I just love the interwebs sometimes. The 2021 Biden/Harris Inauguration brought many great moments but thanks to Sen. Bernie Sanders and the interwebs, his creative and crafty mittens were a big winner and I am certain will live on.
It didn’t take long for social media and Etsy to blow up with Bernie’s Mittens swag and creativity. Here are just a few of my personal faves. Some that allow for you to get crafty, stay cozy and keep all the joy that Vermont’s favorite grumpy old man brought us.
The best part of this all to me is that it comes from Bernie being Bernie: Staying warm, performing his duty to attend, socially distanced and dressed in a repeat look of his jacket and wearing mittens gifted to him 3 years ago by a constituent. All of this came together to authentically give us the perfect Bernie in a photo.
Truly the image was just what we all needed. It represents everything from #mood to #thiscouldhavebeenanemail and of course the internets blew up. By the day after the inauguration we had all kinds of great memes and laughs.
