Read MoreSpring has fully sprung in most parts of North America but there’s one part of Spring that can feel never ending. I am talking about cleaning and clearing out my friends!
As much as we love our stashes, they can get overwhelming sometimes and transform into a source of stress and discomfort. We want you to love and value your stash again so we have brought you this Spring Clean Stash Busting: Free Pattern Round Up to help spark some new ideas and inspiration for your next stash dive!
At its worst, stash diving can feel like a slog. Pulling out the same old yarns you buried in there last time you tried to tidy up. At its best, spring clean stash diving can feel like a deep breath, giving you and your creative time a perk of fresh air and fun spirit.
1: The Spring Rhapsody Pillow from Nana’s Crafty Home was made for the season (literally!). Sometimes learning a new stitch can be daunting when it is part of a large garment. Take all those shorter pieces of yarn and try out some new stitches on this sampler pillow!
2: Blue Star Crochet’s Meadowside Baby Blanket uses crochet to get the look of a woven blanket. With one base color, the contrast color combos are endless! The stitch pattern on this blanket is nice and tight so there’s nowhere for little fingers to get caught.
3: When I think of OG stash busting, I think of the classic log cabin pattern. It’s such a fun way to play with color in little concentrated squares! Devine Debris’s Linen Log Cabin Square pattern will get you started on a technique that can be used for blankets, coasters, table runners, and all sorts of other projects! And the little squares are great to have with you on the go.
4: Show your stripes with the Rainbow Snake from Golden Lucy Crafts! I love the idea of seeing just how long you could make your snake. This would be such a special keepsake for a little one in your life.
5: Are there ever enough dishcloths? No, there are not. Perfect to use around the house (of course), they are also perfect to build up another kind of stash - a gift stash! The stitch pattern on the Pankh Dishcloth from KnitterKnotter looks like it would be great to really help out with the scrubbing.
6: Speaking of gifts, the Bumble Puff Beauty Biscuits from Hooks Books & Wanderlust would make a perfect gift. Practical AND pretty, they will add a thoughtful touch to a gift basket or be appreciated all on their own.
7: It’s time to celebrate nature and new growth so what symbolizes that better than flowers? The Crochet Flower Crown from Stitch & Hustle is springtime all over!
8: Cooler temperatures may be behind us for now, but we still need to keep hair under control. No one wants to deal with sticky strands when outside enjoying the day. Enter the Rhapsody Headband from Pine Tree Crochet!
9: Talk about having fun with your stash! The Mod Crochet Beads Necklace from Crochet With Mary Beth is ready for fun for sure. The end result has the bonus of being perfect for warm weather wear as it won’t stick to your skin when the temps rise.
We hope you’ve enjoyed our Spring Clean Stash Busting: Free Pattern Round Up. Keep that stash down and have fun doing it!

Hi - I’m Michele
Welcome to Stitch & Hustle. I have always loved crochet (and knit). I started this blog because I wanted to share beginner friendly entry level patterns for all levels of makers. But especially for those learning and just starting out with knitting or crochet. My patterns are super easy and a great place to practice skills with easy construction patterns - and most of the patterns are free for that very reason.
Hope you find something great to make here - and please do share your makes on social media tagging #stitchandhustle.
