Ever meet someone and have an instant awesome vibe from them and you just know you want to do something with them? Collaborate with them? Work with them? Buy them lunch and have their awesomeness drip on you? That was how I felt when I finally got to meet Afifa Sayeed last year.
Not only does Afifa design brilliantly, but she also works with Stitches and we met at Stitches Midwest when I was doing workshops in the Playground. I was like.. yes please, we must collaborate. And as fate and luck would have it she said YES!
We tapped the shoulder of our mutual friend Stephanie over at Asylum Fibers and down the collaboration rabbit hole we all went. (I promise that pun will be even more funny later).

Asylum Fibers launched a wonderful Alice In Wonderland inspired color theme series earlier in 2020 and I just love how Afifa took that theme and went a step further down the rabbit hole (see what I did there… again) with this Unbirthday Cardigan. A Shag - fringe cardigan!!!!
This sweater is so fun. I love how Afifa took her vision of a shag & fringe style sweater and brought it to life in high fashion style hand knitwear. It looks like it just stepped of fthe runway and will bring your personality out.

Afifa nailed the term “Statement Piece” in this design and I love how our testers really showed how you can make this Unbirthday Cardigan your personal style all with simple button placement and button choices too!
