Cozy Cowl n' Snood - FREE Pattern
/This is one of my staple items in my shop and has become my signature item. It was the first item that sold out for me in my shop and in person so I thought it should be one of my first free patterns too. It is my good luck cozy snood.
This pattern is made using double stranded yarn. What this means is that you will be working with 2 skeins simultaneously as a single strand. It helps the cowl keep structure without too much bulk. I selected Lion Brand's Vanna's Choice for this pattern because it works up quite easily and washes well.
Supplies:
8 skeins Vanna's Choice yarn in Color of your choice
M Size Crochet Hook
Large Need to weave in ends
Stitches Used:
fhdc - foundation half double crochet
hdc – half double crochet
ch - chain
st - stitch
Do not turn your work after each round. Once you slip stitch together at the end of the round, simply continue in the same direction.
Grabbing a starting strand from 2 skeins (you will work with two skeins simultaneously):
Base / ROUND 1: fhdc 64 then slip stitch together creating a circle *** be very careful not to twist this round***
ROUND 2: Ch 3 (counts as first hdc & ch 1), skip next st, * hdc in next st, ch 1, skip fhdc *; repeat * to * all way around, then sl st to second ch of ch 3 that started round
ROUNDS 3 – 24: Ch 3 (counts as first hdc & ch 1), skip next hdc, * hdc in next ch 1 sp, skip hdc, ch 1*; repeat * to * all way around, then sl st to second ch of ch 3 that started round
ROUND 25: ch 1, hdc in same, 63 hdc all way around - stitch this round loosely
