Worsted Weight Yarn approx 180 yds
Crochet Hook Size J / 10mm and K / 6.5mm
Darning needle to weave ends

sc - Single Crochet
dc - Double Crochet
fpdc - Front Post Double Crochet
bpdc - Back Post Double Crochet
PATTERN
Start with a magic loop. If you do not know how to do a magic loop but want to learn, there are some great tutorials on youtube. If you do not want to use a magic loop you can chain 3 and slip stitch together.
Using your J hook, either in your magic loop or your chain circle:
Round 1: ch 1 (acts as your first sc), 11 sc, sl st to top of ch 1 to complete the round
Total for Row 1 is 12 sc
Round 2: ch 2 (acts as your first dc), 2 dc in each sc of row 1, sl st to top of ch2 to complete the round
Total for Row 2 is 24 dc (including your ch 2)
Round 3: ch 2 (acts as your first dc), 2 dc in each dc of row 2, sl st to top of ch2 to complete the round
Total for Row 3 is 48 dc (including your ch 2)
Round 4: ch 2, then 3 fpdc then *4 bpdc , 4fpdc* repeat * to * to end sl st to top of ch2 to complete row
Round 5-6: ch 2, then 3 fpdc into the fpdc of previous row then *4 bpdc , 4fpdc into the fpdc of prev row * repeat * to * to end sl st to top of ch2 to complete each row
Round 7 : ch 2, then 3 bpdc into the fpdc of previous row then *4 fpdc , bpdc* repeat * to * to end sl st to top of ch2 to complete row
Round 8 - 10: ch 2, then 3 bpdc into the bpdc of previous row then *4 fpdc , bpdc* repeat * to * to end sl st to top of ch2 to complete row

SWITCH TO LARGER K / 6.5 mm Hook for brim
Row 15 – 18 : ch 1, sc all the way around, sl st together at the end of each row
