Darning Needle

HAT SIZES: Adult Small (Medium, Large) Beanie (Slouch)
DIMENSIONS: 21 (22, 23)” circumference; 7.5 (10, 10)” long
GAUGE: 14 Tks x 18 rows= 4 inches, blocked.
ABBREVIATIONS:
ea= each
Tps = Tunisian purl stitch
Fhdc = foundation half double crochet
Tslst = Tunisian slip stitch
FwP = forward pass
Trps = Tunisian reverse purl stitch
hdc = half double crochet
Rem = remains/remaining
lp(s) = loop(s)
RetP = return pass
Tks = Tunisian knit stitch
YO = yarn over
PATTERN NOTES:
- Pay close attention to the crown decreases on the hat. Since they are done on the RetP, be sure to go under both loops of each decrease on the next FwP.
- If you are using one CC do not cut the yarn between rows, carry it up the side. If you are using multiple CC, cut the yarn after each use. There are two lengths for the hat. The row counts for the beanie are outside the ( ) & the slouch is inside the ( ).
- Changing colors: YO with the new color on the last RetP st.
- Trps: With yarn in front of hook, insert hook in the back vertical bar, YO and pull up a loop.

Row 37(47): Tslst bind off. Cut the yarn, leaving a 12 in. tail for seaming.
Finishing
Weave in CC ends.
Wet block before seaming. Turn hat back side facing out. Weave long end through last row, cinch closed. Turn front side out. Matching up rows, mattress stitch sides together. Weave in ends.
