Take A Trip With The Eastbound Shawl Patterns
/I had so much for designing these Eastbound Shawls for 7th Floor Yarns 2020 Christmas In July Advent.
I let each color sort of tell me what stitch it wanted to be and it all came together to create a meditative pattern that allows you to find moments of peace in the stitches. Think of it like a road trip (heading Eastbound) and you have options for various exits and routes.
That was the inspiration and I just love the finished result. You can change up the color order if you like or follow along as written. That is where you get to set your own course for your own Eastbound journey.
It is a crescent shaped shawl that works up very fast and is great for beginners and experienced stitchers! I wanted the crescent shape - to stay with the road trip theme - as a bit of a winding adventure. This also grows considerably when you block it and I highly recommend wet blocking for this shawl.
I have never designed for an Advent before so having to keep things a mystery as the pattern went on was a new challenge and so much for for me in the design process.
The Advent surprise for each participant kind of made it a mystery KAL/CAL with a bonus of treats. Being in these crazy pandemic times, I really wanted to create a rhythmic flow of self care stitches! This yarn from 7th Floor Yarns is just so special and I know you will love it as much as I loved designing with it. It worked up so soft and never minded when I needed to frog it. And believe me, there were a few moments when the yarn and I had to come to terms lol. In the end, I think we agree this shawl set is perfect for you to knit or crochet!
